JOY ZHANG has been practicing Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs for more than 30 years. For the past 19 years she has been providing acupuncture services in Westford, Chelmsford, North Chelmsford, Acton, Lowell, Littleton, Tyngsboro, Boxborough, Groton, Carlisle, MA and Nashua, NH.
Before coming to the US from China, she practiced for 10 years as a Traditional Chinese Medical Physician in Charge at Hebei Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She also taught at Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Joy received her medical degree from Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) in 1984. She had to undergo 5 years of intensive study and training in acupuncture and herbal medicine. She also attended a one-year “Advanced Doctor Training Class” for advanced studies at China Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Beijing in 1986.
Joy taught at New England School of Acupuncture (NESA) in Watertown, MA for 12 years and was an Associate Professor and a clinic supervisor at the school. Before founding China Acupuncture, she worked as an acupuncturist at Brigham & Women’s Hospital/Spence Center in Cambridge, MA. Joy was a Senior Editor of New England Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine when it was published. Joy currently practices at China Acupuncture Health Center in Westford, MA and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (where she received the Zakim Center for Integrative Therapies SERVICE AWARD) in Boston, MA.
